American Sign Museum T Shirt

This vintage-inspired t-shirt design was created for the American Sign Museum, blending retro Americana with playful typography and bold sign shapes to reflect the museum’s nostalgic atmosphere. The concept draws inspiration from mid-century roadside signage and classic wayfinding elements—central themes of the museum’s collection.

Design Process

• Concept Development: I explored a variety of sign shapes and color palettes that evoked a 1950s-60s feel. The star, directional arrow, and panel layout were used to mimic classic neon signs.
• Typography: I chose a vintage serif for "American Sign Museum" to echo old-school signage styles, paired with a clean sans-serif for the location info to maintain readability.
• Color Scheme: Muted teal and mustard gold were selected to give the design a retro, timeless look. The cream t-shirt color ties it all together.
• Final Composition: The full layout was created in Adobe Illustrator and tested on mockups to ensure balance and print-readiness.
